Passionate Rock storyteller Mikaru is setting sails to return to Europe with his multidisciplinary art project G.L.A.M.S. On board to embark for the TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN Europe Tour 2020 is his undaunted crew, guitarist Yudai, bassist Tetsuto, and drummer/DJ Syu.
Regular guests in European realms, the four musicians are set out to indulge the fans with unforgotten melodies and the new songs from G.L.A.M.S’  upcoming  forth  mini  album  TWILIGHT  AFTER  THE  RAIN, which will be released on valentine’s day!
Inspired by Mikaru’s recent feelings and ranging from despair and grief to hope for the future and true freedom as well as love and lust, each song of the new album has its own story. »The world, places, and characters are all different« , says Mikaru and adds mysteriously: »But
interestingly, none of them are me.«
The singer-songwriter and born performer from Tokyo, Japan is excited to reunite with his European fans in France, Belgium, Germany, Czech  Republic,  Poland,  and  the  Netherlands.

»Our  shows  are  pure entertainment and I want you to feel the emotions right in the moment. Let’s become one and be led by my music together!«

ARTIST PROFILE

xgZSSQMw.jpeg

Mikaru started his career as a vocalist in the Visual-kei band DIO – Distraught Overlord in 2006 in Tokyo area. It was only a few months before DIO’s dazzling breakthrough show at Japan Expo, Paris, France, in July 2007, and several successful international tours.

After the break-up of DIO – Distraught Overlord and the final show in 2009, Mikaru and DIO drummer Denka created a new band project, Black Line, with new members. Mikaru thereby strayed from the dark, vampiric visual of DIO, to drift onto a new pop, glam style. He started to paint and design CD artwork. When Black Line came to an end, the roots of Mikaru’s long-prepared project G.L.A.M.S had already begun to grow.

»G.L.A.M.S is a wide-ranging art project, including music, paintings, and
jewelry. It is like a big ship I can sail everywhere with. So, I feel free. I’ll continue
this project until I die and nobody can stop me.«

—Mikaru, G.L.A.M.S —

Mikaru announced the birth of G.L.A.M.S in December 2013 at Black Line’s last live. In February 2014, G.L.A.M.S made its official debut as a multidisciplinary project at an art exhibition called Paris 7 Days in Paris, where Mikaru exhibited his paintings and sang G.L.A.M.S’ first single Under the Moon. G.L.A.M.S performance on stage is variable, from a solo show to a full-band setup. In 2014 and 2015, G.L.A.M.S toured in Europe as a five members band, while in 2016, they got their first tour in Latin America.

Between 2017 and 2019, Mikaru returned to Europe twice as a solo artist and two times with his fellow comrades as a band. Currently consisting of guitarist Yudai (Black Line), Mikaru’s close friend for many years, Tetsuto, on bass, and drummer/DJ Syu (formerly Denka at DIO – Distraught Overlord and Black Line), Mikaru works with musicians he trusts and who he likes for their sound and sense. The 2020 tour support musicians are the same for recording of the upcoming album TWILIGHT AFTER THE RAIN—to be released on valentine’s day 2020—, a dream team with many years of experience together.

Q&A

Q: How old were you when you decided that you wanted to be a singer and why?

A: I’ve been 18 years old and was tempted by a woman in a mink coat …

Q: Who are your influences in music?

A: It’s John Lennon from the Beatles. Without him, I would have never been playing music.

Q: What is the most difficult part of composing a new song?

A: The melody of the song. Finding the best one out of a million melodies is a daunting task.

Q: Are you planning to go on a tour in USA?

A: I will make it happen!

Q: You have various creative outlets: Music, Paintings, and Jewelry. Do you love all equally? Or is there one you love the most?

A: Of course I love everything, but music is at the core. Without music, I wouldn’t exist.
